Creating links in citations

I know some of you are having trouble with the URLs for your citations. It does not work to simply copy and paste your citation from Word. Here are the steps you need to go through to make your URLs work:

Type up your citation (or copy and paste from Word but be sure to remove any formatting)
Highlight your URL (not the brackets)
Click on "links" icon on your tool bar (between the italics and quotations marks)
A box will pop up asking you to reenter the URL. Click okay

Use the Preview option to see if your link is working. Here's one I create:

Alexie, Sherman. shermanalexie.com. 2004. 21 April 2006 <http://fallsapart.com>.

So then on our blogs do we need to worry about the hanging indent in the citations?
